Dress Code Reminder

Now that the weather has warmed up we have been asked to remind everyone about the school dress code.  This is a dress code established by the SCC and enforced from Grade K-12.

I spoke to the Grade 1 and 2 students yesterday so that they understood the dress code as well.  We discussed that wearing spaghetti straps is not allowed however "lasagna" straps (thicker/wider) straps are acceptable.

We also discussed  the length of shorts, skirts, etc and how they have to come below your fingertips when your arms are at your side.

Mary Poppins

On Wednesday, June 3rd the students from Grades 1-6 are attending the Globe Theatre in Regina to watch a live performance of “Mary Poppins”.

We will travel by bus, and leave at 8:00am SHARP from the school. Your child will need to bring a lunch and snacks, with minimal garbage and packaging.  Please send something they can eat easily while travelling, with no worries of spills, etc.

The show is performed for us at 11:00am and will last approximately 3 hours.  We will leave the theatre around 2:30pm and plan to stop at Dairy Queen for a snack before heading home.  Please send money with your child to cover the cost of their treat at Dairy Queen, if they wish to have one.

We anticipate a return to Coronach between 5:30-6:00pm.

All students can be picked up at the school upon our return.

Due to the costs related in taking a bus to Globe Theatre, we are asking that students pay for the cost of their ticket.  The cost per ticket is a reduced student price of $15.

Please submit a cheque (payable to Coronach School) or cash, along with the permission form at the bottom of the page, to your child’s classroom teacher by Thursday, May 28th.

June Scholastic Order

Today your child is bringing home 7 (sorry) Scholastic book order catalogs.

If you are interested in purchasing anything, please send the order form and cheque to school before Thursday, May 14th.

Word Rings

Thank you for all of the hard work that continues to be done with the Word Rings.

Remember our goal is that everyone in Grade One and Two completes all 4 buckets of Words Rings before the end of June.

Friendship

As we continue our study of friendships, we are looking at how people who are different than us can still be our friends. We first compared the friendship between Charlotte and Wilbur.  Today we compared ourselves to a classmate, and then blogged about how they are the same as us AND how they are different than us!

I am so impressed with the great ideas my students have AND with the wonderful friendships in my classroom!
