Year End

As we end another school year, we want to thank you all for the support over the last year.  We are thrilled with the amount growth we have seen in each student.  We will miss our Grade Two class as they move into Grade Three with Miss Gent.

We are very excited to continue our journey with the new Grade Two class and our rookie Grade One students.  Have a wonderful summer and see you in September!

Report Cards

Report cards will be handed out the morning of Thursday, June 27th.  If you are not able to pick it up at that time, please send a self-addressed stamped envelope so that we can mail the report card to you.

Classroom Spaces

I just want to update all of you on our classroom configuration and the work spaces we have created.  These pictures show the variety of seating available and the spaces the children work in while at school.

Swimming

Our class will be going swimming for the afternoons of Friday, June 17th AND Monday, June 27th.  For your child to participate we need confirmation by email or a Remind App text.  Permission must be received by Friday morning for children to attend this activity.

There will be Teacher and EA supervisors as well as the Lifeguard from the pool.  The pool also has life jackets available if necessary.

Killdeer Birds

Last week as we worked in the outdoor classroom we discovered a Killdeer bird with her chicks.  We watched from afar, and listened to the mother try to call us away from her chicks.  We also witnessed the mother's "broken wing" act to try and distract us.

Track in Rockglen

We will be leaving Coronach after attendance tomorrow morning and will return in time for students to catch their bus home at 3:20pm.  Here is further information about track in Rockglen tomorrow:

1)  The track meet in Rockglen will start at 10am and will be completed by 2:00pm.  

2)  Lunch breaks will be staggered so that everyone is not wanting to order at the same time.  Burgers and hot dogs will be made ahead of time and kept warm so that we do not have a line up waiting for burgers.  Here is the menu for tomorrow:

Hotdogs - $2.00

Hamburgers - $3.00

Water - $1.00

Pop - $1.00

Ice Cream Treats - $1.00

3)  There is also a vending machine with other snacks if students don’t like ice cream treats. 

4)  Please bring your own water bottle, hat and sunscreen (in a backpack they will carry with them for the day) as it is supposed to be very warm out tomorrow.

5)  The high jump event for all grade 1-4 students has been eliminated to ensure all other events are completed on time.

6)  We encourage students to bring additional, healthy snacks as it will be a long hot day.

Bike Rodeo

We will be attending the Bike Rodeo on Friday afternoon.  We ask that all students bring their bikes to school that morning OR have them dropped off at the school before noon that day.  If your child has a helmet please send it on Friday and also make sure your child has proper footwear for riding a bike.

June Scholastic Book Orders

Today your child will bring home the June Scholastic Catalogs.

This will be the last order of the year and your last chance to stock up on reading material for the summer months!

Anyone interested in ordering should have the forms and cheque to school by Friday, June 3rd.
