Pumpkin Carving

This year marks the 10th year that Mrs. Gagne and I have pumpkin carved with our classes.  What fun we have and how amazing it is to watch these high school students buddy up and help the Grade One students.  Thank you to the Grade 11 and 12 class and to Mrs. Gagne!

Halloween

The SRC is planning to have a bake sale on October 31st.  All items will be $1 and proceeds will go towards creating boxes to send to Samaritan's Purse.

If you are considering sending treat bags for students on Halloween, I ask that you instead send items that can be used to create boxes for Samaritan's Purse.  Items such as school supplies (crayons, markers, pencils, colouring books, notebooks, etc), Hygiene items (toothbrushes, hair clips, bars of soap, washcloths, combs, brushes) and or puzzles, socks, small stuffed animals are perfect donations.

Students will be pumpkin carving in the morning (with their high school buddy) and then can dress at noon if they choose to. 

Rocks and Pumpkins

We are planning a rock painting project for Education Week and are in need of more rocks.  Please send rocks to school with your child (seriously, I can't believe I'm requesting this... haha) over the next few days.

Rocks should be as flat as possible (to allow for painting) and able to be held in one adult hand.

And at the end of the month, we will be carving pumpkins so keep your eyes open.  I will be asking for them closer to the end of October.
