Keepsakes ~ A Year of Writing and What a Weekend

School supplies, books, and keepsakes are being sent home over the last few days with hopes that the last day will not be so overwhelming.

I encourage you to look through everything AND please consider keeping your child's "What A Weekend" and "A Year of Writing".  These two pieces of writing have been worked on over the entire year and show the tremendous growth your child has accomplished!

We have looked back at their work from September and commented about how much they have learned and how they are awesome at writing now!

Thank you for the continued support, and I hope you enjoy looking through these two keepsakes that are on their way home to you!

Bike Rodeo

We will be attending the Coronach Bike Rodeo on Wednesday, June 24th.  It will be held all afternoon down at the Sportsplex.

Students will need a bike and helmet to participate in the Bike Rodeo.  Bikes should be at school before 1:00pm on Wednesday.  We will be walking our bikes down to the Sportsplex as a group and participating in Bike Safety activities for the afternoon.

Thank you in advance, and if you have any questions please let me know.

Rider Day

We are asking that students wear green tomorrow to show their Rider Pride!  Thank you in advance for your support!

Extra book

This book was returned with library books this week. None of the students think it belongs to them, so if this happens to be from your house please let me know.

If no one claims it, we will gladly add it to our classroom library.

Finishing Word Rings

Thank you to everyone who has been helping their child with word rings.

We will finish up word rings at the end of this week so please return them this Thursday or Friday, even if your child has not mastered them.  We will work on them at school for the last few days and we will continue to work on them next year.

Elementary Track

On Wednesday we will travel to Rockglen to participate in Elementary Track events.  The day will start at 10:00 and will end near 2:30pm.  Students will arrive back in Coronach at around 3:00pm, and will be dismissed from school at the regular time.

Please send your child to school dressed for physical activity AND the weather.  I would encourage you to also send sunscreen, bug spray, and a hat for that day.

Students will be organized according to grade level, and will travel in that group for the entire day.  There will be a leader assigned to each group and students will be participating in all of the scheduled events.  Proper sportsmanship and behavior is expected during the day.

There will be food available for purchase, however students may also want to bring snacks, extra water or other healthy food to have during the day.  The menu for the day is as follows:

Dear Mary Poppins

Today we wrote, and then blogged, a letter to Mary Poppins.  Have a peek here:

Mary Poppins

What a wonderful day we had on Wednesday!
We left Coronach at 8am, had our snacks gone before Bengough, and ate lunch at 10am.
The production of Mary Poppins was amazing, and I believe the students would agree!  Many were commenting that it was the BEST EVER as they left the theatre!

Our stop at Dairy Queen was a perfect way to stretch our legs and fill our stomach before the ride home.  Thank you for having the students here early in the morning, and for picking them up once we arrived! We greatly appreciate the support!
